And now, The News!
Ugh.
Yeah, that about sums it up. Today is my day for being tired and cranky, I guess. I won’t really get into the details, since they don’t have much bearing here.. Except the internet is down at home (Update: Interweb FIXT!) and so I can’t get at some of the stuff I was going to use to post.
Ah well. Also I missed the raid last night (tho the raid itself misfired, apparently) on account of no interwebs. Trixy/Heleva’s player made the point that the longer you’re away from WoW the less WoW seems to matter.. I’d noticed that in the past, and I’m noticing it now. Though to be honest she’s been out 2 weeks and I think I’m rolling up on day 5. (10 Frost Badges!! ZOMG!!! Well.. +5 for the weekly also. And another probably +8 for ICC, and maybe +2 more for VoA… Shit. -_- )
Anyway.
On to the next installment of Toon Show ‘N Tell!
Dimunitia
Put simply, Dimmy is a toy. A lot of my toons have a purpose: (I.E. Val is my chanter, Corvy is melee DPS, Aidran is a tank/healer, Nag will eventually become ranged DPS where Val has failed, so I keep all the big niches covered.) Some toons though I start just to have fun with the class itself and basically dick around. I play them when I feel like playing them, I don’t when I don’t and I’m not real concerned with leveling them or getting them geared (even though I usually do anyway. >.>)
And so it was when I decided to make a Gnome DK; my thought process being along the lines of:
- Haven’t played a DK yet really.
- Gnomes in full plate look hilarious (like furious bobbleheads)
- HA! HA! That’s awesome.
And voilâ!
So yeah, I guess I’m not at all immune to the trope where something really small and really cute is also really violent.
And Dimmy is really, really violent.
As it turned out, after a bit of practice I found myself really liking the way DK’s operate (Blood at least, I haven’t really sampled the other specs) and so I decided to use her mining to provide fodder for Aidran’s Blacksmithing. (Do want bonus sockets) So now she’s actually less of a toy and more of a utility toon. I’ve been a bit too busy to fiddle with her much of late and she may never be a raidworthy toon, (tho she’s done very well in the instances I’ve run her in) but she does have a special place in my roster for being just so goddamn cute. Much like with Corvine, all the stupid stuff I like to say and do in-game tends to come out when I’m on my DeathKnome.
A pretty good fit for Dim. Give it at least 33 seconds.

Well in full plate they usually they don’t go real far and you just wind up hurting your foot.
…The tempation to ask for a fastball special whenever there’s a Draenei in the party is damn near unsupportable, however.
